About Sara

Sara Sterley is a writer, tree hugger, yoga and mindfulness teacher, cook, gardener, and living seasonally encourager. She is the founder of Sara by the Season (sarabytheseason.com) and an evangelist for living, cooking, shopping, and gardening seasonally in collaboration with the natural rhythms of the Earth. Through events, workshops, recipe sharing, and speaking, Sara shares the importance of letting nature dictate our habits.

Sara is passionate about the seasonal practice of yin yoga and teaches weekly yoga classes themed around the seasons of the year. Additionally, she leads workshops on meditation, self-care, the benefits of living seasonally, and Ayurveda. She created a mindfulness curriculum called Mindfulness by the Season, which teaches mindfulness practices based on nature’s season and rhythms.

Sara is wife to her hilarious husband, Grant, and mama to two crazies. Sara’s family lives and works at Funky Farms, their small family farm in central Indiana. Next to the three of them, food, and gardening, she has a deep love for quiet days curled up with a good book and just about anything that involves the great outdoors.

Why subscribe?

I began blogging at sarabytheseason.com over a decade ago. What started out as a way of recording my thoughts about eating seasonally quickly morphed into a desire to share all of the ways that living seasonally has benefited my family and me. This newsletter is a way of sharing my thoughts about what’s working for me and what’s not. If you like that sort of thing, subscribe so you don’t miss out!
