I'm also reading The Dawn of Everything, and passed the first mention of the Dunbar number a few days ago. It's a fascinating book for me because I've always been curious about the eras of history that it focuses on. I'm glad that colonial erasure of indigenous accomplishments and forms of government seems on its way to being slowly undone ....

Fascinating to me too. It makes you wonder how many other things we’re taught that have been proven wrong but larger culture hasn’t caught up yet...

I would highly recommend reading Bitch: On the Female of the Species, by Lucy Cooke, to learn just how much we "know" about animal behavior is just male scientists making assumptions based on prejudices instead of observation. It's infuriating
