Great post. Very thought-provoking. I’ve never considered the difference between self and community care but it makes perfect sense. Expecting people to “self-care” our way out of stress is an extension of the hyper-individualism that infects so much of our lives. Kind of like those “10 things you can do to save the earth” lists -- while fossil fuel companies carry on drilling and billionaires fly their private jets to their fifth mansions.
I’ve seen studies that show that external change can drive internal, which is good news because people aren’t so likely to change without some experience to show them the benefits.
